Bronze skinned and not too tall, Jongin seems unremarkable and average. Brown eyes are expressive, his body lithe while his dark brown hair is kept short, bangs fall across his forehead, fading back into the rest of the cut. His ears are unadorned. Jongin hardly smiles, but when he does and it’s genuine, he has the ability to light up a room. Jongin dresses in tshirts and tank tops, jeans and he goes barefoot as much as he can. If he didn't have to wear shoes, he wouldn't. The ensemble is rounded out by his favorite jacket.

Jongin is bashful, shy, a little awkward, and tends to fade into the background. this coupled with his habit of withdrawing into his own little world, is just the way he likes it. he sleeps a lot and can be hard to get up and make function. he's blunt and doesn't say much but once you get to know him and win his trust, he becomes an almost different person.

Hailing from Suncheon, Jongin lived with his parents and two older sisters. Life was far from easy for him at home, his father was abusive, causing his mother to leave and never come back, abandoning her children. He would constantly turn on one of his sisters and when they were not available, he would turn on Jongin with either fists or hurtful words. He would take the abuse, making himself as small as possible and wishing he could be somewhere else, away from the constant turmoil at home. It left him unable to make friends and interact with others as he was constantly withdrawn. For his own protection, he didn't want to add to the already long list of reasons why his father treated him like he did.

Jongin learned to cope by shutting down and closing off his emotions, where he couldn't feel or react as it never did him any good. He would sleep a lot to avoid the mess at home, unless his father decided he was being too damn lazy and would force him out of his bed. There was never a peaceful moment at home, eventually his sisters got old enough to leave home, he begged to go with the oldest but she couldn't take him but she said she would be back for him once she was settled, his next oldest sibling just disappeared in the middle of the night and never came back. Now that he was his father's only target, the abuse grew worse, he wished he could be anywhere but where he was. He just had to concentrate on surviving... or at least until his sister could come back for him. But he didn't hold any hope of that. He'd had all the optimism stripped from him, he had nothing left.

Or so he thought. His eldest sister made good on her promise to come back for him, she had gotten him ready to leave, when their father came home and turned on the young woman. Jongin moved intervene, turning his father's focus to him. As the beating started, Jongin wished he could be anywhere else, that his father would go away and never come back. The feeling escalated and as Jongin found himself screaming and suddenly he was wet. There was a coppery taste in his mouth and something heavy was on him suddenly, it was just dead weight. He was brought back to reality by his sister's shrill screams. Confused at first, but then he slowly realized that his father was missing his head, right arm and part of his torso. He was covered in blood. Jongin paled and shut down, his sister contacting the authorities, told him it would be okay and stayed with him.

In the aftermath of his father's murder, Jongin was visited by a never ending stream of government officials and military. He was subjected to a battery of tests and it was concluded that he was Requited. He was registered and watched, his sister by his side the entire time. It was a lot to take in and Jongin had a long road to recovery. It was about a year before he was released to Safe Havens in Seoul so that he could be monitored and resume something of a normal life. His sister came with him, living and working so that she could continue to be close to him.
